Installation

To obtain a problem-free installation of the roofing, it is recommended to always use flat and dried rafters that allow a perfect alignment of the roof frame and ensure uniformity of the layer of the roof panels.

The fresh cut rafters may involve twisting and unwanted bending, jeopardizing uniformity of the roof covering. Therefore, their use should be avoided.

Ideally rafters must be at a distance of 600 mm

centre-centre and must be installed perfectly parallel to each other.

1. Start with a full sized panel A1 starting from one side of the roof at the eaves. Make sure the “shiplap” joint on the upper side of the panel faces the carpenter and not the rafters, in other words the writing “↑ TegoDeck ↑” must be visible.
2. Lay all the panels horizontally parallel to the eaves and fix to the underlying rafter or truss. Never install the boards in a vertical direction.
   
   
3. Fix the boards to the rafters, in correspondence as per recommendation on page 9.
   
   
4. Lay the next panel A2 and connect it to the one previously installed, using the tongue and groove joint.
   
   
5. Fix the second panel to the rafters after having connected it to the side.
   
   
6. Continue with the following boards until the row is complete.
7. Lay the next row starting with a cut panel at 1200 mm.
   
   
8.  The pieces cut at the end of row A can be used as an initial panel in the opposite corner of the successive row B.
   
   
9. It is not necessary for short lengths of panels to be located immediately above the rafters. Panel joints  can be created between the rafter locations.
